Greater Milwaukee Chapter of APA announces award
 Since 2002, the Greater Milwaukee Chapter of APA has given the "Special Friend" of the Chapter Award to a vendor or government speaker that has been very active and supportive to our Chapter, Statewide and to all payroll professionals. Past recipients of the "Special Friend" of the Chapter Awardhave been 2002 - during NPW John Hiddleson, IRS Senior Tax Specialist; 2003 - Wisconsin Statewide Conference Frank Wilkerson, Kronos Inc.; 2005 -Carlos Gonzalez, Galaxy Technologies; 2007- Rick Derse, Ceridian and 2009 - Wisconsin Statewide Conference Scott Bankert, TALX Corporation.
In December 2009, we lost our very good friend John Hiddleson, from the IRS, due to brain cancer. John was an honorary member of our Chapter and came to most of our meetings armed with handouts and information on the newest developments at the IRS and government agencies. John was a very positive and outgoing person; truly an asset to our Chapter. He presented many workshops and meetings on various topics including Identity Theft. John volunteered to the chapter on his own time. He would also volunteer at many of our charity events including answering phones at the Channel 10/36 Public Television pledge drive.
Because of John's dedication to our Chapter and teaching all payroll professionals, the Officers and Executive Board of the Greater Milwaukee Chapter has decided to honor John and re-name the "Special Friend" of the Chapter Award the "John B. Hiddleson Memorial - Greater Milwaukee Chapter - Special Friend Award". This award will be given annually to an outstanding government or vendor relationship. The award will now be given during our National Payroll Week celebration or when the chapter hosts the statewide conference. Thank you John, for your dedication to the Greater Milwaukee Chapter of APA.
