THE
GALA EVENT
The Greater Milwaukee
APA chapter celebrated their 10 year Anniversary and National
Payroll Week in a big way. It was a class act including
education, fun and memories. The chapter rented a hall and made
sure there was room for dancing since a D.J. was setting the
mood! The attendees came to the meeting welcomed at the door with
NPW balloons, and a goodie bag to take home. NPW information and
10 years of archived Greater Milwaukee chapter information was
available for everyone to enjoy.
After networking
everyone was spoiled with a delicious sit down dinner of chicken
Parmesan and beef tenderloin. During dinner (70 in attendance)
enjoyed hearing memories from some of the Past Presidents. Julie
Rozewicz,CPP, founding member, recalled the overwhelming response
after she sent out the first letter to see who may be interested
in forming a chapter. The first meeting (May 1994) to discuss if
a chapter should be formed consisted of 70 people. Each year the
chapter continued to grow. Comments were made the chapter stays
strong because of the fresh ideas from new members and new
officers as well as the strong dedication of those who continue to
stay involved and volunteer. Speaking of volunteers – a raffle
was run during the evening for any new volunteers for committees.
Gifts and prizes were awarded, which included back and feet spas
to take the stress out of our life and two free registrations to
the next year’s statewide conference. Several vendors and
supporting member companies were generous in donating gifts
including sponsorship of the evening.
After dinner 20 ladies
in a Barbershop Quartet wowed us with their wonderful singing.
Then we were inspired by Jenny Provenzano, CPP on her presentation
for ‘Tips on Project Management’. The presentation set us in the
right path for future successful projects. The evening didn’t end
yet – The D.J. turned on the tunes and conga dance line proceeded
around the hall. Guests, Spouses and Members were enjoying the
evening when the anniversary dance was played. Centerpiece
flowers were displayed in mouths and of course ‘Kiss my Payroll’
rocked the house.
Once the pictures and
decorations were packed up, the final group cheered for 10 more
years of professional growth within the Greater Milwaukee APA
chapter. Congratulations members!
